Product blocks

Product blocks make up the buy box on the product page and in the Featured product section. They automatically use the product of the section they're in, so there's nothing to connect.

Title

The product name. On the product page, it's the page's main heading (h1).

Price

• When the product is on sale, the strikethrough price (compare-at price) shows next to the price.
• The unit price shows when the variant has one (for example, "$2.50 per 100 ml").
• When a subscription plan is selected, the subscription price shows and the one-time purchase price is struck through.
• Show tax and shipping note adds "Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout." (or "Tax excluded..." depending on your tax settings). To change this text, see Edit the theme text.

Variant picker

Each option shows as swatches, image thumbnails, text, boxes, or a dropdown, depending on its content and the Option style setting. Switch to a dropdown above sets the number of values at which a text or box option turns into a dropdown (swatches are never affected). See Choosing variants.

Selling plan

This item has no settings.

Shows the purchase options for a product sold by subscription (selling plans created by a subscription app such as Shopify Subscriptions): "One-time purchase" and each plan with its price. The block only shows for products that have selling plans. "One-time purchase" isn't offered if the product requires a subscription.

Buy buttons

• The Add to cart button spans the full width of the column. It shows "Adding" while the item is added, then opens the cart drawer or cart page depending on Theme settings > Cart.
• Dynamic checkout buttons (Shop Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal, and so on) depend on the payment methods you've turned on. They take the height and shape of the theme's controls. They're hidden for gift cards.
• For a gift card, the block adds the "Send as a gift" form. See Gift card.
• For a sold out variant, the block shows "This selection is sold out." and a Browse the collection button.
• The Shop Pay Installments message shows in this block when it's turned on.

Quantity

A standalone quantity selector that you can place anywhere in the buy box. It follows the variant's quantity rules (minimum, maximum, increment): the starting value is the minimum.

Pickup availability

For stores that offer local pickup (SettingsShipping and deliveryLocal pickup). The block shows whether the variant can be picked up at the first pickup location ("Pickup available at ...", with the preparation time). If there are several pickup locations, a Check other stores link opens a drawer that lists each location, its availability, and its address. The block updates when the variant changes and doesn't show if pickup isn't available anywhere.

SKU

Shows the SKU of the selected variant, in small print. Hidden when the variant has no SKU.

Description

Shows the full product description, below a divider. Hidden when the description is empty. For a description collapsed to a few lines, use the Expandable text block connected to the product description instead, as in the default template.

Product group

A container that arranges several blocks in a column or a row inside the buy box. It comes in two presets: Product column and Product row.

Unlike the Group block, the product group accepts every theme block, including product blocks: for example, a Product row with the price on the left and the SKU on the right. App blocks can't be placed in it.
