Alternate templates
Create a different layout for specific products, collections, or pages.

An alternate template is a variation of an existing template that you assign to specific resources only. For example: a product template without a size guide for accessories, a "lookbook" page template with a large hero, or an editorial collection template.
Create a template
Open the template selector
In the theme editor, open the dropdown menu at the top of the screen and choose the type (Products, Collections, Pages, and so on).
Create the template
Click Create template, give it a name (for example, accessories), and choose the starting template to copy.
Customize it
Add, remove, or adjust sections and blocks. The original template isn't changed.
Assign the template
In your Shopify admin, open the product, collection, or page, then choose the template in the Theme template card (right-hand column) and save. To update several products at once, use the bulk editor from the products list.

Transparent header on an alternate template
To make the header transparent on an alternate template, add its full name to Also transparent on these templates (Header section), for example page.lookbook, and start that template with a Hero. Entering product makes the header transparent on all product templates that start with a Hero. See Transparent header.
