Video
A video hosted on Shopify, YouTube, or Vimeo, with a cover image.
The Video section shows a campaign film, a workshop portrait, or a demo, in 16:9 format, across the width of the page.

Video source
- Video: a video uploaded to Shopify (ContentFiles). It takes priority over the URL.
- YouTube or Vimeo URL: used only if no video is uploaded.
Cover image
Before playback, the section shows a cover image and a Play video button. The image used is, in order: the Image chosen in the section, the preview image of the uploaded video, or a placeholder illustration. For a YouTube or Vimeo video, always choose an image.
Playback
- The YouTube or Vimeo player only loads when the shopper starts playback, so the page stays lightweight.
- YouTube videos use the cookie-free domain
youtube-nocookie.com. - After clicking Play video, focus moves to the player for keyboard users.
Autoplay
With Autoplay, the video starts muted as soon as the page loads. It never starts if the shopper has asked their system to reduce motion. The video doesn't loop.
Without a video
With no video and no URL, the section shows the cover image (or the placeholder illustration) without a play button.
