Gift card

Maison supports Shopify gift cards end to end: the product page, sending to a recipient, and the page the recipient gets.

Create a gift card

In your Shopify admin, go to ProductsGift cardsAdd gift card product. Create one variant per amount (denomination). A gift card uses the product template like any other product. You can assign it an alternate template to remove the shipping collapsible rows, for example.

Send to a recipient

On a gift card's product page, the Buy buttons block automatically adds a Send as a gift checkbox. When it's checked, it shows:

Recipient email	Required when the box is checked
Recipient name (optional)	255 characters maximum
Message (optional)	200 characters maximum
Send on (optional)	Up to 90 days from today. If left empty, the card is sent right away

Shopify then sends the card to the recipient on the date chosen. If the box isn't checked, the card is sent to the buyer. The recipient's details are shown again in the cart.

The gift card page

The recipient gets an email with a link to their gift card page. This page, built into the theme, shows:

• the card's balance
• the expiry date, if there is one, or "This gift card has expired"
• an illustration: your store's brand logo (SettingsBrand) or, if there isn't one, a generic card
• the card's code, to enter at checkout
• a QR code to scan in a physical store
• an Add to Apple Wallet link, when Shopify offers it

You can't edit this page in the theme editor. It uses your theme's fonts and colors.
