Footer
Link columns, text, newsletter, breadcrumbs, payment icons and legal links.
The footer is your store's index: columns of links, an introduction text, the newsletter signup, then a legal row. It's part of the Footer group and appears on every page except the password page.

Blocks
The footer accepts four blocks at most, app blocks included. The footer that ships with the theme contains a Text block, two link lists and a newsletter.

Check Show social links to show, under the text, the icons for the networks filled in under Theme settings > Social. This is the only place these icons appear.

One Newsletter block per footer. It uses the same form as the Newsletter section: subscribers are saved as customers with the newsletter tag.
App blocks
Compatible apps can add their own blocks to the footer (reviews, loyalty...). They count toward the four-block limit.
Layout
On desktop, the blocks sit side by side in columns. On phones, link lists and text blocks collapse into accordions; the newsletter always stays open. The logo sits at the top of the footer on phones, and at the bottom right, on the legal row, on desktop.
Legal row
The last row of the footer contains:
© yearfollowed by the store name (linking to the home page) and the "Powered by Shopify" link, which Shopify translates into the shopper's language;- the links from the legal menu chosen in Legal menu (legal notice, terms of service, privacy...);
- the payment icons, if Show payment icons is checked.
Payment icons are generated automatically from the payment methods turned on in SettingsPayments and shown in grayscale to stay discreet. You can't choose the icons one by one.
Breadcrumbs
With Show breadcrumbs, the footer shows the path to the current page, for example Home - Dresses - Lina dress. It isn't shown on the home page, the cart, the collections list or the 404 page.
- On a product page, the collection only appears if the shopper came from that collection.
- On a collection filtered by tag, the tags are added to the path.
- On an article, the path goes through the blog.
